About Philippine Airlines; Airbus A350-900 'Love Bus'
In 1979, Philippine Airlines took delivery of its very first Airbus aircraft, the A300B4. To commemorate the very first Airbus in the PAL fleet, the aircraft was given a special design and was named "The Love Bus". It had a lip painted near the nose of the aircraft and the type face "Love Bus".
In 2019, PAL celebrated its 40th anniversary with Airbus and at the same time, the airline was taking delivery of Airbus' latest and most advance aircraft, the A350-900. To celebrate this partnership, Airbus gave two of the latest A350s of the airline the same "Love Bus" symbol, reminiscing the very first Airbus aircraft of the airline. RP-C3507 was the first A350 to be delivered to PAL which carried the "Love Bus" icon.
The Airbus A350’s all-new design includes the latest innovations in aviation that improve operational performance. The aircraft offers true long-range capability, more fuel efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and less noise versus previous-generation aircraft. It is also equipped with the most efficient aero-engine flying today.
Most of the aircraft is made of carbon composite materials making the plane more light. It is powered by Rolls Royce XWB high-bypass turbofan engines giving the A350 a range of 9,700 nautical miles or 18,000 km. PAL's longest non-stop commercial route, New York to Manila, is served by the Airbus A350.
